Pitt Police Investigating Use of Taser on Escaped Hospital Patient
University of Pittsburgh Police have launched an investigation into an incident in which a taser was used on an unarmed woman who had escaped from UPMC Presbyterian Hospital on Monday.
Questions were raised about the use of force after video surfaced of police using a stun gun on the woman, who was dressed only in a hospital gown and socks. A university spokesman told the Post-Gazette the woman had jumped into a pond and started running against traffic on a busy road, and officers were concerned about her safety.
Pitt officials say all incidents involving use of force are reviewed by the department.
Police haven't identified the woman who was shocked.

The Pittsburgh Steelers and New England Patriots will meet tomorrow what is perhaps the most important game of the regular season. The Steelers lead the AFC at 11-2 with the Patriots trailing just behind at 10-3, and with the winner holding a tiebreaker with only two games to play, it is likely that team would have home field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs. But both teams have remained dominant all year long. The Patriots have dominated this series in recent years, as Ben Roethlisberger has beaten them only three times.
