Close to Home
The event, titled Close to Home, is being held on July 23rd, 2013 at Carlow University to raise funds and awareness about the issue of human trafficking and modern-day slavery. Hosted by Diana Fletcher, local speaker, author and business owner, the event is one of Hope and Inspiration.
The American Family Association, a Christian non-profit group launched April 20th a pledge to boycott Target after the retailer said it would welcome transgender customers and employees to use any bathroom or fitting room that matches their gender identity, offering an inclusive place to shop and to work. AFA argues that this store policy will allow sexual predators' access to potential victims and wanted to take a stand before Target's decision started a trend in retail.
