Rock & Ride at Southshore Riverfront Park
Saturday, June 15th: 2:00pm-7:00pm Join South Shore Riverfront Park, the URA, Riverlife, The South Side Chamber of Commerce as we host the first ever Rock & Ride! A line-up five local bands and Sky Bar’s DJ Benny Wood will rock your ride while you enjoy local food and drink from Allegheny City Smokehouse, ‘Burgh Bites Food Cart, Bella Christie’s Sweet Truck, the Turner Iced Tea Truck and frosty brews courtesy of AMPD Group. Make your own trail mix with Farm to Table Pittsburgh, and enjoy special trail and family-friendly activities throughout the day. All proceeds will benefit the South Side Chamber of Commerce and Riverlife. 2pm: Chuck Owston & The Scarlet Gypsies 3pm: OZO Remedy 4pm: Hepcat Dilemma 5pm: Mother’s Little Helpers 6pm: Meanstreet FREE & open to all ages! Faced with an angry backlash for defending white supremacists' right to march in Charlottesville, the American Civil Liberties Union is confronting a feeling among some of its members that maybe some speech isn't worth defending. Cracks in the ACLU's strict defense of the First Amendment no matter how offensive the speech opened from the moment a counter-protester was killed. A Virginia ACLU leader resigned, tweeting, "What's legal and what's right are sometimes different."
