Rock & Ride at Southshore Riverfront Park
Saturday, June 15th: 2:00pm-7:00pm Join South Shore Riverfront Park, the URA, Riverlife, The South Side Chamber of Commerce as we host the first ever Rock & Ride! A line-up five local bands and Sky Bar’s DJ Benny Wood will rock your ride while you enjoy local food and drink from Allegheny City Smokehouse, ‘Burgh Bites Food Cart, Bella Christie’s Sweet Truck, the Turner Iced Tea Truck and frosty brews courtesy of AMPD Group. Make your own trail mix with Farm to Table Pittsburgh, and enjoy special trail and family-friendly activities throughout the day. The Pennsylvania Tourism Office reported to a state House Committee that efforts to market itself as a destination for tourists is falling behind neighboring states due to six years of funding cuts now a $10 million budget being outspent by New York 5-1 and Virginia 3-1. Reporting studies showing Pennsylvania losing 37 million visitors-spending $7.7 billion and over $400 million lost in state tax revenue due to underfunding tourism efforts. The report concluded that an investment in tourism generates more income for the Commonwealth.
