Inspire Speakers Series
Join Phipps and Green Building Alliance (GBA) on the second Thursday of each month to hear from local and national sustainability experts as a participant in the Inspire Speakers Series. The special guest for the May 9 talk, entitled Defying Boundaries: Integrating Sustainability Practices, is David Orr (author, healthy building pioneer, environmental education expert and distinguished professor at Oberlin College). A Pew Research Center report released Monday suggests there is still a stark difference in attitudes about race relations among racial and ethnic groups. Eight years after electing a black president, two-thirds of blacks and hispanics think President Barack Obama at least tried to make race relations in the United States better while about half of whites think Obama made race relations better or at least tried to, but a third saying the president made race relations worse.
