Earlier this month the Pa. Senate passed legislation that would prevent municipalities from passing green-friendly policies aimed at reducing the environmental effects of plastic bags. Supporters of the bill say regulations on plastic bag sales could inhibit the state's 14 manufacturing facilities and the recycling industry. Environmental groups have opposed the legislation, arguing local communities should have the option to fight litter. Gov. Wolf has previously opposed the bill, though it's not clear whether he plans to veto the legislation.
