American Diabetes Association EXPO/Pittsburgh
9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
The American Diabetes Association EXPO will take place on Saturday November 10th from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. The event will be hosted by the American Diabetes Association whose mission is to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by the disease. Attendees will have the chance to view health screenings, cooking demonstrations, and product exhibitors. Additionally, numerous leading experts will speak about the methods of dealing with the harmful consequences of diabetes. Come and receive the latest information on preventing and managing diabetes to help keep you and your family healthy.

As participants in this fun program, kids ages 8-9 can learn how to make healthy exercise and food choices, and create their own jump ropes from recycled materials as they celebrate fitness at Phipps.

The Turnpike has halted design and engineering work on the last leg of the Mon-Fayette Expressway in response to concerns raised this week by the Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission questioning the value of the $2.2 billion project. County Executive Rich Fitzgerald favors canceling the construction, transferring the funds to other projects that better redevelop the Mon Valley. However Fayette County Commissioner Vincent Vicites believes the Turnpike can’t just shift funds to another regional project and wants the construction completed so the Expressway can be fully utilized and the region won't lose the money.
